Book Review
Title of the book: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Name of the author: Roald Dahl
Name of the illustrator: Quentin Blake
The central idea of the book:
The book is about a very poor but kind-hearted boy named Charlie Bucket who wins a magical golden ticket to visit the mysterious and wonderful chocolate factory owned by the eccentric Mr. Willy Wonka. It teaches that good behaviour and kindness are ultimately rewarded, while greed and bad habits lead to trouble.
The important characters and what they do:
• Charlie Bucket: A poor, polite, and caring boy who is the hero of the story.
• Willy Wonka: The strange and brilliant owner of the magical chocolate factory.
• Grandpa Joe: Charlie's loving and enthusiastic grandfather who accompanies him to the factory.
• The other four children (Augustus, Veruca, Violet, Mike): Greedy, spoiled, and ill-behaved children who get into trouble inside the factory because they refuse to follow the rules.
What you like about the book:
I absolutely love the magical descriptions of the factory—especially the chocolate river, the edible grass, and the Oompa-Loompas who sing funny songs whenever a naughty child makes a mistake. The story is very funny but also has a touching ending when Charlie’s life changes forever.
Why you want others to read the book:
I want others to read this book because it is highly entertaining, takes you into a world of pure imagination, and gives a very important lesson: honesty, patience, and a good heart will always win in the end.
